Join the EC² Webinar on Simulating Democracy

EC2 webinar poster on simulating democracy

How can simulations help us better understand democratic decision-making?

Join the EuropeanCity² online webinar on 30 June 2026, from 13:00 to 15:00 CEST, and discover how the EC² project explores new ways of studying democracy through computational social science.

Exploring Democracy Through Simulation

The webinar will introduce the EC² project and its work on using real and synthetic data, simulation methods, and classical and quantum computational approaches to better understand collective decision-making.

Participants will learn how researchers are developing models that can help analyse voting behaviour, preference formation, opinion dynamics and the possible impact of different decision-making mechanisms.

The webinar will also show how these ideas connect with future real-world testing, including the Aarhus City Budget Pilot.
